What we count
To see whether the page helps tutors understand Tutee.Page, it counts visits:
-
the visit, and where it came from: the name of the site that linked here and the campaign
tags of the link (such as
utm_source) - how far down you scrolled, and which sections you saw
- how long you read, while the tab was in front
- which buttons you pressed, such as “Join the waiting list” or “Skip”
- whether you watched the teacher finish the page
- your country, worked out from your IP address at that moment, with IP geolocation by DB-IP
What we never keep
- Your IP address. It is used for a moment, for the country and the key below, and never stored.
- Anything that follows you. Your browser keeps a random visit number for this tab only, and forgets it when the tab closes. The server tells visits of the same day apart with a key made from your IP address, a rough browser type (such as “Firefox, Windows, desktop”) and a random secret that is deleted at the end of each day. Visits from different days can never be linked, not even by us.
- Your name or address. Nothing you type on another site reaches these statistics.
When your visit is not counted
If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, none of the above is kept. The page only adds one to a count of such visits for that day, with which of the two signals it was, so we know how many visits the statistics leave out. Nothing else goes with it: no time, address, browser, country, page, link or visit number.
How long, and who sees it
The counted events are kept for twelve months, then deleted. Only the people who run Tutee.Page see them, on a private statistics page. Nothing is shared or sold, and there are no ads.
The waiting list
“Join the waiting list” takes you to app.tutee.page. When you leave an address there, the campaign tags of the link you came by are kept with it, so we know which posts bring tutors.
